Purple Chair has worked with the Elysee Hotel for more than 8 years, on a marketing consultancy basis initially during a time when the hotel industry was changing from walk by traffic to online bookings. We implemented the set up with online portals and revamped the Elysee Hotel website with online booking system. The new website was optimised for SEO alongside additional SEO activities. Most recently, we have created a WordPress blog in the style of the website which also helps with SEO. The object is to have most of the bookings derived from the hotel’s own website to minimise commission payments.
The Elysee Hotel continues to generate a lot of its bookings through the hotel website which results in less fees to online portals, although the portals are still an important aspect of the marketing strategy. The hotel was renovated a few years ago and this has allowed the management to charge higher room rates without compromising on quality and value for money. The result has been an increase in revenue for the hotel.
